DSBC is excited to announce its next panelist: Kaitlin Gascoyne!

Kaitlin Gascoyne is a Basketball Marketing Agent at CAA Sports, a division of leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA)

CAA Sports represents more than 3,000 of the world’s best athletes in sports such as baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, tennis, and golf, in addition to icons in individual sports, on-air broadcasters, coaches, and other pre-eminent personalities. Beyond on-field athlete representation, CAA provides unique opportunities for clients off-field, in areas including licensing, endorsements, speaking, philanthropy, video games, and digital.

Gascoyne is based out of Houston, TX and represents many of the world’s top basketball players, including Trae Young, Karl-Anthony Towns, Jaren Jackson Jr., OG Anunoby, D’Angelo Russell, Elena Delle Donne, Myles Turner, and Drake Powell, among others. Gascoyne began her career at CAA in 2019 having previously interned in 2018.

Gascoyne graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Sports Management and minors in Business, Sports Media, and History. In 2021, Gascoyne was named to the Front Office Sports Rising 25 Class which recognizes the most accomplished young executives in the business of sports under the age of 25.

A former collegiate and professional basketball player, Josh brings a deep understanding of the game, both on and off the court, to his work advocating for and representing top-tier NBA talent.
Before his career as an agent, Josh elevated his basketball journey at Duke University, where he played for the Blue Devils from 2010 to 2014. He went on to have a successful professional career in Europe, where he built a global network and gained invaluable perspective on the business of basketball from a player’s point of view.
Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Josh is currently residing in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Jackie, and son, Joshua Jr. His passion for basketball continues to drive him as he supports and mentors the next generation of NBA stars.

Chad Stender is a Managing Partner at SeventySix Capital. Chad is known as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist, tireless networker and prioritizes giving back. SeventySix Capital was founded in 1999 and invests in startup sports technology companies. SeventySix Capital was an early investor in Whistle Sports, a global sports media company (acquired by Eleven Sports), Philadelphia-based Nerd Street, a community of competitive and recreational video gamers that produce a series of esports tournaments, leagues, and casual gaming events, and VSiN (acquired by DraftKings), the first media network dedicated to delivering the news, data and expert analysis of the rapidly growing sports betting industry, co-founded by acclaimed sportscaster Brent Musburger.

Chad is a Co-Founder of SeventySix Capital Sports Advisory and he played an integral role in solidifying SeventySix Capital’s partnership with Rubicon Talent, a leading sports marketing agency. Prior to SeventySix Capital, Chad worked in the sports and entertainment industry for the Walt Disney Corporation, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Flyers and Comcast Spectacor.

Kitan is part of the founding investment team at Dynasty Equity, a sports-focused private equity firm with investments in Liverpool F.C. and TMRW Sports. Prior to Dynasty Equity, Kitan was an investor at Sixth Street, a global investment firm, where he evaluated and managed investments in sports, media, entertainment and technology. While at Sixth Street, Kitan worked on investments in the San Antonio Spurs and Legends Hospitality. Prior to Sixth Street, Kitan was an investment banking at J.P. Morgan, where he worked on numerous technology, media and telecom transactions, including the acquisition financing for the Miami Marlins. Kitan also volunteers at SEO and serves as an advisor to GreenHouse Capital Africa.

Kitan received his B.Sc. in Applied Economics and Management and graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University.

Jason began his career in his hometown of Atlanta, covering the 1996 Olympics for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A graduate of Georgetown University, he lives in New York.

As an investor, he built Larry Fitzgerald Enterprises which has a robust investment portfolio across various sectors focused on sustainability, technology, and lifestyle companies. Technology and sports motivate his investment strategies, and he has invested in “over 160 companies in sports, restaurants, hotels, technology, real estate, fintech, enterprise software, and more” (LFE).

In 2021, Fitzgerald joined ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” as an analyst and in 2020 Fitzgerald became a minority owner of the Phoenix Suns.

A driving force in several sports business and entertainment ventures, Kleiman is behind projects like SWAGGER (AppleTV+), Two Distant Strangers (Netflix, and NYC Point Gods (Showtime). He and Durant are majority owners of Major League Pickleball’s Brooklyn Aces and have minority stakes in teams across the MLS, NWSL, PLL, and more all while leading 35V, a powerhouse in early-stage investors. Previously, Kleisman helped launch Roc Nation Sports. He also runs the Durant Family Foundation which helps support underserved youth around the world and sits on the Board of Directors at New Heights Youth, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to sports-based youth development and education in New York City.

Last week, we had the privilege of talking to NBA Commissioner and Duke alumnus Adam Silver. DSBC Co-President Sydney Girvin served as one of the discussion moderators and led an interesting exploration into the world of media, branding, and finances for both the NBA and WNBA. Commissioner Silver engaged with the student body and answered questions ranging from “How will the NBA adapt to its 5% drop in ratings?” to “Who is the next face of the league after LeBron James retires?” Thank you to Commissioner Silver and all those involved in organizing the event.

Join us in a conversation with Cathy Engelbert, the Commissioner of the WNBA! Cathy joined the WNBA in 2019 as its first-ever Commissioner and has led the league to new heights. Prior to the WNBA, she retired as the CEO of Deloitte after 33 years at the firm.
